The April Forecast – Julia Berolzheimer

Spring is fully underway, and April already feels like a turning point. We’re in the early days of settling into our new home—a project that’s been both energizing and a little chaotic in the best way. This month is shaping up to be a mix of everyday rhythms and quick getaways, with Easter prep, a mid-month trip to Barbados, and the beginning of our design process all in motion. Below, what I’m wearing, buying, eyeing, and organizing as the season unfolds.

    What We’re Doing

    • Settling into our new house—we brought in NEAT Method Charleston to help us organize post-move, and it’s easily the best decision we’ve made so far.
    • Traveling to Barbados mid-month with friends. It’s our first time visiting, and I’ve been gathering visual inspiration—palm-filtered light, saturated blues, and the kind of architecture that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.
    • Prepping for Easter. I’ve filled the house with a few of these charming bunnies, which the girls have taken to (carefully) relocating from room to room.
    • Sneaking away for a quick retreat in the Bahamas with a group of women I truly admire.
    • Officially beginning our home design process and meeting with Summer Thornton this week.
    • Opening the pool at our new house, which has become the centerpiece of our girls’ at-home spring break this year.

    What I’m Wearing

    • For a dress-up night in Barbados, I’m bringing this Etro dress—it feels right for warm evenings.
    • These green silk pants from Rohe have quickly become my spring uniform. They’re relaxed but smart, especially with a white tank.
    • Speaking of, this white tank is the one I’ve been reaching for most often—clean lines, great cut.
    • This colorful set is equal parts fun and unexpected. I wore the top with jeans last week, saving the full look for an upcoming event.
    • These turquoise and rattan heels feel very me—simple with a standout detail.
    • The Lena sandal by Margaux has fully entered my rotation—comfortable, flattering, and quietly stylish.

    What I’m Buying

    • Just ordered this set of marbled glasses for the new bar—beautiful on open shelving.
    • A new colorway in a favorite pair of sneakers—always useful for travel days.
    • Emporio Sirenuse continues to be a go-to. I just added this striking skirt to the mix.
    • On the practical side: these laundry baskets are a recent solve. Thomas requested plastic, I wanted something that still looked good—somehow, these do both.
    • A new hue in my favorite bra (the scoop shape)—the fit is unmatched.
    • Just added this bracelet stack for spring—easy to throw on with anything.
    • For the girls’ Easter baskets, I put together this collection of small, sweet gifts.
    • Restocked my favorite beauty Matcha from Kromathis one is delicious and feels like a treat.
    • This Christopher John Rogers dress is a piece I couldn’t stop thinking about—graphic, sculptural, and beautifully made.

    What I’m Eyeing

    • My Gucci loafers are on heavy repeat, and now this updated version is sitting in my cart.
    • This marbled dress just caught my eye with its dramatic color blend.
    • There are a handful of marble accents I’ve been bookmarking for the house. This tray is high on the list.
    • The Frick reopens this month after a major renovation, and I’m tempted to plan a quick trip to NYC to see it (and visit the new Printemps store, too).
    • My jewelry wishlist is always growing, and this Carolina Bucci Soho necklace is currently at the top.
    • I love a good woven texture, and this Salvesen Graham fabric is especially beautiful. I also just pre-ordered their new book to add to my design library.
